Initiated and supported by the European Metropolis of Lille, and developed in close collaboration with higher education and research institutions such as the University of Lille and the Catholic Institute of Lille , ARTFX , and Piktura , as well as representatives from the professional and innovation sectors like GameIn , NorAnim , Pictanovo , and CITC-EuraRFID , EuraCreative is based on a Public Interest Group (GIP), a structure capable of establishing governance around a broad ecosystem of stakeholders and working daily for the development of the sector. Other members will gradually join this initiative.

A bit of history
From Plaine Images to EuraCreative
The history of EuraCreative is closely linked to that of Plaine Images, created on a former industrial site straddling Roubaix and Tourcoing, with the aim of revitalizing the area and promoting the development of an ecosystem centered on Cultural and Creative Industries, including video games and audiovisual media to begin with.
1985 : Creation of Pictanovo
Formerly the CRRAV – Regional Centre for Audiovisual Resources, which became Pictanovo in 2013
1995: Installation of Le Fresnoy,

2008 Birth of the Plain Images
On the former industrial site, the urban developer Ville Renouvellée has the mission to revitalize the area and promote the development of an ecosystem centered on creative industries.
2010: Arrival of the first companies on the site
2012: Official opening of Plaine Images
The Imaginarium building has been inaugurated, with 8000m2 now dedicated to innovation and entrepreneurship.
2022: Plaine Images animates more than just a creative district
Ten years later, the entire ecosystem of Cultural and Creative Industries in the region and beyond converges from this European hub made up of more than 100 companies, schools, research center, and an incubator.
2024: Creation of EuraCreative
The European Metropolis of Lille has decided to create EuraCreative by Plaine Images, the 5th site of excellence dedicated to the economic development of the Cultural and Creative Industries sector and to the attractiveness of the territory.
2025 EuraCreative Celebration
On July 10th, EuraCreative will fully unveil itself to its 300 guests, partners, entrepreneurs, elected officials, and artists. This will be an opportunity to share its ambition, revisit its mission, and outline its priorities, all based in the Plaine Images district.

EuraCreative symbolizes the region's strong political commitment to the Cultural and Creative Industries (CCI), positioning itself as a leading center of excellence for audiovisual (cinema, animation, special effects, etc.), games (video games, serious games, gamification, etc.), music and sound ( equipment, distribution, rights management, etc.), live performance (production, distribution, large-scale events, etc.), and experience design These sectors are drivers of innovation, international reach, and job creation.
At a time when Cultural and Creative Industries represent a major lever for innovation and economic development, EuraCreative is positioning itself as an essential European hub, whose mission is to accelerate economic development and stimulate innovation in the sector.
