VivaTech 2026: When innovation from the cultural and creative industries meets the international stage
For its 10th edition, VivaTech confirmed its status as a major global event for tech and innovation. And EuraCreative was there, alongside the Hauts-de-France regional delegation and the European Metropolis of Lille, to showcase 51 regional startups, including three gems from its ecosystem: 8gameLearn, Koppelia and Solfy.
8gameLearn impressed with its 3D digital platform, allowing everyone to create and facilitate knowledge exploration through play. Koppelia, the first interactive console designed for nursing homes and senior residences, demonstrated how technology can adapt to each individual's pace while simplifying the daily tasks of activity coordinators. As for Solfy, its revolutionary method for learning music theory—customizable and adapted to educational progression—even reached the finals of the Battle of the Regions, providing exceptional visibility for the European Metropolis of Lille and its support for startups.
Beyond project presentations, VivaTech provided EuraCreative with the opportunity to co-host a key event with its long-standing partner, Music Story, on the theme "No data, no music!" For 15 years, Music Story has been supplying international leaders in digital music with licensed or customized music metadata, creating unique experiences. This is a concrete demonstration that innovation is everywhere in the cultural and creative industries.
And as if that weren't enough, the team took advantage of the event to forge connections: meetings with French and international territories such as Zù, our Quebec partner present at the Quebectech booth,
Finally, thousands of kilometers travelled in a single day – and concrete leads for the future, a profitable operation for the carbon footprint of a Lille-Paris TGV!
Cannes Film Festival 2026: Lille's virtual reality in the spotlight
From May 12 to 22, the Cannes Film Festival hosted the 3rd edition of its Immersive Competition, where 9 works from 8 different countries were in contention. Katábasis, a creation by Ugo Arsac (a former student of Le Fresnoy) with sound design by Antoine Boucherikha (Life Pass Filter – Ishtar Games), won the Best Immersive Work Award.
Inspired by the myth of the katabasis, this interactive documentary plunges viewers into the subterranean labyrinth of New York, giving a voice to those who live, work, or hide there. A poetic and committed exploration of the metropolis's underbelly, at the heart of a polarized American society.
At EuraCreative's PIX Festival 2025, these same talents had already presented Energeia, an immersive experience where visitors explored a ghostly building constructed from 3D scans of French nuclear power plants. In 2026, for the second year running, the PIX Festival made a point of showcasing the vitality of the regional VR scene through the VR Village by Pictanovo – EuraCreative.
A selection of around ten linear or interactive audiovisual works, and immersive artistic works, viewable throughout the event, this village supported by Pictanovo, showcases relevant, diverse and high-quality French XR creation, fully proving our French vitality.
Game Camp 2026: Video games, between strategy, creativity and international networking
As a sponsor of the event, EuraCreative made its presence felt at Game Camp 2026 with a motivated team and entrepreneurs from the Take Off entrepreneurial incubation support program. The program included inspiring conferences, lively booths, and strategic meetings.
The discussions focused on concrete challenges for the gaming industry, such as how independent studios are adapting to a recently difficult funding market, the need to cultivate an authentic brand identity to stand out, and the use of powerful technical tools like Unreal Engine to realize ambitious projects with limited resources. The conferences also addressed specialized topics such as "Video Games in France: What is the State of Diversity?", "How to Appeal to the Chinese Market?", and more practical ones like "Releasing a Game with a Marketing Budget of Less Than €5,000".
At the booths, five diverse video game projects (multiplayer, strategy, co-op, roguelike, clicker, fighting, etc.) were presented by developers with eclectic backgrounds: Kevin Barré (Gameji Studio), Mathieu Bourrada (Funky Corp.), Samuel Charlet (Drache Productions), Tom Kurcz (Tiecorp Studio), and Tristan Camus (Baluchon Studio). This diversity allowed for direct feedback on aesthetics and gameplay, as well as opportunities to meet experts.
The icing on the cake: an international delegation of 10 professionals and elected officials (Canada, Poland, Germany, Ireland, United Kingdom) explored the local video game ecosystem, with visits to EuraCreative's Imaginarium, Ankama, Ishtar Games, and Rubika. This program, led by the French Institute, the Hauts-de-France Region, and Game IN, aims to foster international collaboration opportunities.

JIM 2026: Music technology in the spotlight in Lille
From June 15 to 18, 2026, EuraCreative hosted the Journées d'Informatique Musicale (JIM), a scientific and artistic event focused on music, organized by the Association Francophone d'Informatique Musicale (AFIM) and supported by the Ministry of Culture. Organized by the CRIStAL laboratory with the support of EuraCreative, these days brought together more than 70 participants – researchers, artists, and industry professionals – for conferences, concerts, and workshops.
The program included 23 selected scientific presentations (18 of which were previously unpublished), innovative musical works, and a special "AI & Music" day integrated into the AI with Us. The iconic venues of the Imaginarium, the Cité Scientifique, and La Malterie served as the setting for these discussions, with particular attention paid to the ethics and the cultural, ecological, and social impact of computer music.
EuraCreative is once again committed to the music tech sector, and here more specifically with a gateway to research to unite its three pillars: science, creation and innovation in the service of the Cultural and Creative Industries.
