The Game UX Summit , whose first editions were hosted by Epic Games US (2016) and then by Ubisoft Toronto in 2017, is the only global professional User Experience (UX) event dedicated to the video game industry. Plaine Images is co-organizing and hosting this first European edition on April 4, 2018, with its partners: Célia Hodent, Play IN Lab, and Game IN.
Its goal: to allow video game professionals to discuss the current state of UX in this industry, to share best practices and enriching experiences.
This summit brings together renowned speakers from various disciplines related to UX: human-computer interaction, UX design, user research, analysis, competitive intelligence, cognitive science, playtesting, etc.
This is a first edition in Europe hosted by the most important French site for creative industries: Plaine Images – Lille Métropole.
Co-organized by:
- EuraCreative: a center of excellence dedicated to digital images and creative industries. Based in the heart of the Paris-London-Brussels triangle, this hub is the best place to access the European market.
- Celia Hodent is recognized as a world leader in the application of user experience to video game design. She has worked at Ubisoft Paris, Ubisoft Montreal, LucasArts, and Epic Games, helping them integrate user experience into their productions. She is the author of a seminal book on player psychology.
- Play IN Lab: a playtesting laboratory that helps organizations that do not have the time or resources to internalize the key steps that promote the quality and success of their games.
- Game In: an association that structures, animates, strengthens and promotes the development of regional players (development studios, publishers, distributors, accessory manufacturers) in the world of video games.
