GAO#3: MEETING WITH JEAN GUESDON ABOUT ASSASSIN'S CREED ORIGINS – DISCOVERY TOUR
For the 3rd edition of Game All Over on June 5th at Plaine Images , we are honored to welcome Jean Guesdon, Creative Director at Ubisoft , who will open the professional day by discussing the educational ambitions of Assassin's Creed Origins: Discovery Tour. Jean has worked on Ubisoft's blockbuster franchise since its inception, and he is the one who initiated this project: to make Assassin's Creed a tool for teaching history.

The game revisits the Egyptian setting of Assassin's Creed Origins , removing some of the story elements and all violence. In this edition, the goal is purely educational: to discover ancient Egypt, its history, and its legends. It's a truly immersive 3D experience that serves as a teaching tool.

"We spent more than two years discussing with representatives from the education sector to identify the needs and put everything into an effective way," explains Jean Guesdon.
Marc-André Ethier, a history education professor in Quebec, tested the use of Assassin's Creed Origins' educational mode in nine different colleges, comparing its use with that of "regular" history classroom learning. "It turns out that the students who completed the mode learned as much as they would with a traditional lesson," he says.
The Quebec teacher notes that using such a game in class can present material constraints (purchase of PC, and more simply, of the game itself, which costs around twenty euros), but according to him it is an interesting educational tool that can sometimes provide something that the manual cannot provide.
It's a great opportunity to enjoy a keynote dedicated to this experience during Game All Over 3, on June 5, 2018 from 8:30 am to 6 pm at Plaine Images, hosted by the creator of this first!
